WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS (WWC)

Home > Working With Children Checks

Monster Music is always concerned about child safety when children undertake music lessons with any music teacher listed on this site, or with teachers who are offered music students by way of referral.

Music Teachers are strongly encouraged to apply for a Working With Children Check in their relevant state or territory (or Police Certificate in South Australia) to display their suitability in working with children, though are not required to hold one in order to list their details in our directory or subscribe to our referral service. Music Teachers ARE however, at the time of their application(s) to Monster Music required to declare whether they hold a current WWC Card or Police Certificate. That information is recorded and available to potential music students or parents of students.

Monster Music therefore accepts no responsibility for any inappropriate actions or behavior towards any student by any music teacher who obtains students via any service related to Monster Music.

General information on the relevant agencies who oversee the checking process for each Australian state can be found at Care For Kids, or follow the links below for more specific information in your relevant state or territory.
